    We chose the 3 bird roast for Christmas lunch this year, which was not only delicious but made life extremely easy and was a very special addition to our Christmas table. Delivery was as promised, absolutely spot on and we will certainly revisit James Alexander fine foods for 2021.

    I have always wanted a bird roast so this was an experiment and it turned out out to be the best. Delivered on time in a well packed box. the day before I received an email with revised cooking instructions and also a text. I would recommend this to anyone I certainly would buy again.

    I did exactly what it said on the label then we sat down to enjoy an extremely tasty, easy to carve Christmas Dinner. It presentled well at the table and added not only to the taste and aroma but the drame of the meal with a florish of the carving knife and fork. Thank you

    Our first James Alexander 3 bird roast and won’t be our last! Arrived on the appointed day with clear cooking instructions. The end product was a succulent delicious roast. A huge success with family. Will definitely buy from James Alexander again.

    This Bird Roast was a roaring success with my family this weekend for a early Christmas lunch! It literally was my favourite ever Christmas lunch I have ever had! I did not want to brace the supermarket aisles, so phoned and spoke a very helpful gentleman called Oliver - head of customer service, and he was so helpful with getting it delivered perfectly online, and still very chilled in fully recyclable packaging! Highly recommend.

The Ultimate Award-Winning Joint – boneless, easy to carve, full of flavour and guaranteed to impress.

Our famous hand prepared 3 bird roasts are made to order from Turkey, Chicken and Duck, expertly combined together so that each bird cooks the next one inside and the juices combine exquisitely.

Luxury award-winning gluten free pork sausage stuffing is then added to ensure exquisite taste and melt-in-the-mouth texture.  Lastly, the joint is dressed with award-winning Cumbrian pancetta and a couple of sprigs of thyme to maintain the succulent flavours inside and to add visual “wow” effect.

After the main feast any that is left over also tastes very good cold, so you can look forward to another treat if you don’t finish it in the first sitting.

How to Cook your Bird Roast

  • Bring the joint up to room temperature.        
  • Pre-heat your oven to 190°c/375° (170°c or gas mark 5 for fan assisted ovens)
  • Calculate the cooking time allowing 50 minutes per kg, then add 15-20 minutes to overall cooking time
  • Remove the packaging and place in a large roasting tray
  • Season well
  • Cover with a loose tent of foil
  • Place in the middle of your pre-heated oven
  • Roast for the calculated time basting every 30 to 40 minutes
  • Remove the foil tent 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time to brown and crisp the skin
  • Check that it is cooked by inserting a skewer – the juices should run clear. If they are a little pink give them 15 minutes more and check again
  • Transfer to a serving platter and tightly cover in the foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes before carving
