    Excellent from start to finish. Easy to order, regular updates, delivery tracking, timely arrival, well presented, clear storing / cooking instructions and most importantly very very tasty.

    Tender, tasty meats. Easy to carve. Superb taste both hot and cold. Good portions for the 6 of us who shared it, with lots left over for sandwiches. My 5 year old granddaughter was thrilled to have pheasant included and asked if she could have left overs in the evening- 2 Christmas dinners in one day! Excellent service and very helpful when I telephoned with a special requirement.

    .... as the item has been delivered to a family member to bring to the continent for new year. The company could not have been more helpfui and I am sure that it will be as delicious as I anticipate.

    We ordered a 4kg multibird roast for a party of 8 adults and 8 kids. It was ample with some left over. We were all really impressed, it looked and tasted delicious - a real showstopper for a Xmas get together. It was also very straightforward to cook. The service was exceptional, from helpful advice about quantities, to providing a gluten free option, to delivering it exactly as requested. I can’t recommend this highly enough.

    A problem with the delivery courier was quickly and efficiently resolved by Oliver personally delivering our roast to us himself. Brilliant customer service, thanks.
    The cooked 5 bird roast did not disappoint on Christmas day. It was moist and very tasty, as was the cold left over meat afterwards.
    I would have no hesitation in ordering from James Alexander Fine Foods again.

    We received our 2kg bird exactly when we expected. It would have been useful to have cooked temperature guidelines as it was slightly dry plus it was hard to distinguish all 5 birds.

    We ordered the 5 bird roast for 12 people (3kg) - the ordering process was smooth, the office delightful and everything delivered on time.

    The birds were not easily distinguishable but it tasted utterly delicious and was thoroughly enjoyed by 12 people (I'm not sure what else I would have got in my oven for 12, so this is a brilliant solution). There was plenty for everyone and cold left over which was equally delicious. Thank- you I will definitely recommend you and for £78 I thought it was excellent value to feed that many people.

The Ultimate Christmas Joint – boneless, easy to carve, full of flavour and guaranteed to impress.

Our famous hand prepared 5 bird roasts are made to order from Turkey, Pheasant, Chicken, Duck and Wild Wood Pigeon, expertly combined together so that each bird cooks the next one inside and the juices combine exquisitely.

Luxury award-winning pork sausage stuffing is then added to ensure exquisite taste and melt-in-the-mouth texture.  Lastly, the joint is dressed with award-winning Cumbrian pancetta and a couple of sprigs of thyme to maintain the succulent flavours inside and to add visual “wow” effect.

After the main feast any that is left over also tastes very good cold, so you can look forward to another treat if you don’t finish it in the first sitting.


How to Cook your Bird Roast

  • Pre-heat your oven to 190°c/375° (180°c or gas mark 5 for fan assisted ovens)
  • Calculate the cooking time allowing 50 minutes per kilogram
  • Remove the packaging and place in a large roasting tray
  • Season well
  • Cover with a loose tent of foil
  • Place in the middle of your pre-heated oven
  • Roast for the calculated time basting every 30 to 40 minutes
  • Remove the foil tent 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time to brown and crisp the skin
  • Check that it is cooked by inserting a skewer – the juices should run clear. If they are a little pink give them 15 minutes more and check again
  • Transfer to a serving platter and tightly cover in the foil and allow to rest for 15 to 30 minutes before carving
