    The bird came well packed ready to be popped in oven for Christmas dinner - it was tender, tasty and a real treat - we had five for dinner and it did perfectly for us!

    First year of not buying a free range turkey from local farm shop - but have always wanted to try a multi bird roast. Was looking at the usual large super market offerings but left it too late to click and collect. After much searching went for this 10-12 person roast.

    Firstly 5* customer service - first time I have ordered fresh food for over night delivery, but was kept informed of all the steps.

    The roast itself was fantastic - very easy to cook (3 hours) with minimum fuss. So no trying to stuff a turkey at midnight and then getting up a 6 to get it in the oven!!! All the meat was vey tender and better than meat of a whole turkey. Carving is very easy - its just slice after slice of meat!!!!

    The meat lasted for two days after Christmas so certainly was value for money - and with no bones etc very easy to pop into he fridge etc between meals!

    So in conclusion - very good value for money (cost the same as the turkey but had everything (stuffing, bacon) already in the price. Very good quality meat that is very easy to cook.

    My only slight criticism is there could have been a little more stuffing - but next year we will remedy this by making some of our own stuffing.

    So highly recommended and will be buying again next year.

    Ordered the 1.5kg Five bird roast for Christmas lunch and it was absolutely delicious, all the different birds were scrummy. Perfect amount for everyone also meant that we weren't eating a different Turkey recipe every day until New Year.
    Fully recommend this to everyone.
    If you have more than five people with big appetites go for 2kg.

Our famous hand prepared 4 bird roasts are made to order from Turkey, Pheasant, Chicken and Duck, expertly combined together so that each bird cooks the next one inside and the juices combine exquisitely.

Our free-range birds are reared using traditional methods, roaming and foraging as they please. Our focus on provenance and welfare ensures the highest-quality Christmas meat for your festive dinner table.

Luxury award-winning gluten free pork sausage stuffing is then added to ensure exquisite taste and melt-in-the-mouth texture.  Lastly, the joint is dressed with award-winning Cumbrian pancetta and a couple of sprigs of thyme to maintain the succulent flavours inside and to add visual “wow” effect.

After the main feast any that is left over also tastes very good cold, so you can look forward to another treat if you don’t finish it in the first sitting.

How to Cook your Bird Roast

  • Bring the joint up to room temperature.        
  • Pre-heat your oven to 190°c/375° (170°c or gas mark 5 for fan assisted ovens)
  • Calculate the cooking time allowing 40 minutes per kg, then add 15-20 minutes to overall cooking time
  • Remove the packaging and place in a large roasting tray
  • Season well
  • Cover with a loose tent of foil
  • Place in the middle of your pre-heated oven
  • Roast for the calculated time basting every 30 to 40 minutes
  • Remove the foil tent 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time to brown and crisp the skin
  • Check that it is cooked by inserting a skewer – the juices should run clear. If they are a little pink give them 15 minutes more and check again
  • Transfer to a serving platter and tightly cover in the foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes before carving
