This is the finest wild Smoked Cumberland Salmon. Freshly caught in the river Eden, our local river, it is salted, brined and slowly smoked over oak which produces a wonderful flavour. Ready to eat.

Rising high in the North Yorkshire Moors, the River Eden flows north for over 60 miles, changing character from fast streams, riffles, stony glides and deep pools, providing much variety.

The Eden flows over some carboniferous limestone, making it very rich in habitat and species biodiversity , as well as over sandstone and mudstone which is ideal for Salmon. It flows through beautiful meadows and woodlands with a large variety of wildlife finally out into the Solway Firth. Here the local fishermen using Haff nets catch the Salmon and deliver it to The Old Smokehouse to be oak smoked - wath the video below to see how the Salmon are caught.
